Disposable Flip Inserts - 18 Pack

Flip Disposable and Biodegradable Inserts Oeko-Tex Certified

Flip disposable is a one-size, fragrance free and dye free disposable option for the Flip nappy.  The Flip Nappy Disposable insert is the only disposable nappy to achieve Oeko-Tex certification which means it has been found to pose no risk to health whatsoever.  Flip disposable Inserts are easy to use, simply place the insert inside the flip nappy cover and change as you would normally.  The flip disposable is designed for travel, nursery, and those moments when life demands something disposable.  This really is a breakthrough for disposable nappies, the flip disposable is just 22 pence per insert which is considerably cheaper than any other eco-disposables on the market which are only up to 70-80% biodegradable.  This pack contains 18 Flip Disposable inserts.

So what is the Flip Disposable Insert made of? - Non-woven bamboo viscose 5g, wood pulp 14-15g, SAP 3g and starch based glue 1g.

Currently certified 97% Biodegradable.

Please note we do not send Flip or bumGenius nappies outside the UK

Very thin and fairly absorbant, tended to get squashed a bit when wet though. I have used these as an additional booster inside my son's night nappy together with the organic Flip insert! I will buy these again...

We used them folded like a prefold ‘boy style’ into wraps with an umbilical cord cut out for our newborn whilst in the birthing centre and would highly recommend them for this purpose. They did a great job of containing the meconium and first explosive breastfed poohs and proved a good ‘introduction’ into cloth nappies for us as a means of easing gently into a washing routine once home. I would absolutely recommend them for a newborn but they do seem as though they would be a little thin to be absorbent enough for an older baby. Our baby was a healthy 8lb 4 so I can’t comment on how they might fit a smaller newborn, but we didn’t have any leg gape. Hope this is helpful to someone! I think it’s such a nicer alternative to having their first nappies as ’sposies..

Brilliant idea but in practise I found them a little thin and not quite as absorbent as you'd need to avoid hourly changing - however, they cane in handy when I'd popped around the corner to my mums for a couple of hours without my changing bag - I put a couple in my pocket and was able to use one which lasted long enough to get back home to my mf liners! Not quite sure what I would have done if he'd poo'd!..

These are a generous size but easily foldable to fit any size setting. They worked fantastically on our light wetter, with 2 used together lasting overnight, but they did not do as well on our heavy wetter who would only get an hour at most from one, and would need them doubled up just to get a couple of hours. So for a light wetter they are fab and I have udsed them quite a lot, but they didn't work on a heavier wetter nearly as well...

These inserts were one of the first things I bought when starting out with my cloth stash, as I truly believe they make the transition from disposables to reusables much easier when out and about. I must admit that we are still yet to try them, but it will only be a matter of time as we are still waiting for our little girl to grow into her Flip popper covers (we currently only have one velcro one that fits, and are using this at night) I think the idea is fab because it offers the convenience of a throwaway (for these early days when bringing home a dirty cloth nappy still feels a bit icky), whilst still making use of the cloth system. I think it's a great middle ground and I'm actually looking forward to our first trip out when I can start using them...

I bought a pack of these to take camping. I figured if I used them in the Flip covers at the times of day when my son was most likely to poo then it would save me rinsing stinky nappies while we were away. :) When I first took one out I was surprised (and slightly wary) by how thin they were. I have an active 18 month old and I wasn't convinced it would be absorbent enough to last long. I was wrong!! I'd consider him a normal wetter, and it easily lasted 3-4 hours. The poo sometimes goes over the insert onto the cover, but a cover is a lot easier to rinse than a whole nappy with soggy inserts. We will definitely be getting more of these for travel times. A worthwhile purchase that I would recommend!!..

These are lovely and soft but they are too small and not absorbent enough. We needed 2 per nappy change so very expensive. Also poo leaks onto the cover leg elastic which then needed a machine wash so found them them a little inconvenient for traveling..

We recently went on holiday to Finland, we wanted to keep using reusables but where we were staying had no running water let alone washing facilities so we decided that the disposable flip would be a 'happy medium'. My son was 4 months at the time and exclusively breast fed (you'll see why this was important in a minute). The fit was fabulous, very trim and not at all bulky, the flip covers are such lovely colours so we got a lot of positive comments :) Wee wise we had no leaks whatsoever, these pads are very absorbant, at night we used 2 pads together which worked perfectly. However, they did not absorb any of the runny breast fed poo at all!! We literally had to pour the BF poo out of the cover and down the toilet as it just ran straight off the pad and into the cover and then leaked everywhere! Not a pleasant experience at all. Luckily he only pooed every third day so it wasn't too bad. Now, that he is weaned I think that these pads would be fine though. A real plus which we discovered was that they are compostable and the toilets where we stayed were eco toilets which meant the pads could go down the same toilet as Mami and Daddy's 'waste' :) So we were green afterall even hundreds of miles away from home. Overall I think these pads are great and we always have a couple of boxes at home just in case, but I wouldn't recommend for any babies still being exclusively breast fed...

I have used eco disposables before but I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered the disposable flip inserts. They are a long piece of soft fabricy feeling material with a padded centre, looks a bit like a giant sanitary pad but much softer. They work just fine, we used them on our 2 year old and one insert lasted 3-4 hours no problems. The insert bunches up in the middle but this doesn't seem to cause any issues. I would recommend these for trips out or holidays as they are more convenient. I'd rather use these than other disposables on the market...
