Imse Vimse Heavy Tampons x8

This pack of 8 large size tampons come in natural cotton and a choice of colourful prints and are perfect for heavy menstrual flows.

Reusable, washable tampons are now at Babipur - ethically made with two layers of 100% organic cotton. Many disposable tampons contain plastic fibres, fragrances and all sorts of nasties that you really don't want to have inside your body, but Imse Vimse's completely natural tampons are eco-friendly, plastic-free and can reduce the chance of getting yeast infections.

How to use your ImseVimse tampons

First use: Boil your tampons before using them for the first time and allow to dry.

General use: Wash your hands before handling your tampon. Roll it up, starting from the side without the string attached, and secure the rolls by wrapping the string around it and knotting it. Pull the string to ensure it is secure and insert the tampon into your vagina, leaving the string hanging down. Change every 4-5 hours or sooner if required by pulling down on the string. ImseVimse tampons come in mini, regular and heavy sizes - if your tampon feels dry on removal, you may wish to go down a size. Washable tampons can still cause Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) so make sure to change it at least every six hours. For this reason, you may prefer to use cloth sanitary pads or a menstrual cup for overnight use.

Washing: Once you've removed the tampon, you can either rinse it in cold water or store it in a wet bag for rinsing later. A cold water rinse will prevent staining - hot water will set stains in. As the tampons are small, we recommend using a laundry bag to prevent them from getting lost in your washing machine and causing blockages. Tampons can be washed with your normal detergent at up to 40-90'C but do not use fabric softener as this will affect the absorbency, or conventional bleach. Boil after washing to ensure all traces of detergent are removed and air dry.

Environmental impact: Have a zero-waste period with an organic cotton cloth tampon. No more plastic-wrapped, disposable tampons, no more applicators or packaging. Each woman will change their pad or tampon thousands of times over their life and using cloth sanitary protection is a great way to reduce your environmental impact. In the long term, reusable sanitary products work out much cheaper too.

Life-time: ImseVimse sanitary products have a 10-year warranty. Follow the washing instructions to ensure your washable tampons last for as long as possible.

Sports: Don't let your period get in the way of your work-out. You can use a cloth tampon for any activity but we recommend inserting a new tampon before exercising. You can swim with an ImseVimse tampon but change your tampon before and after you enter the water.

Sexual health: ImseVimse tampons can be used with a contraceptive coil. Remove your tampon before having sex. Cloth tampons can be used by women and girls who are not yet sexually active.
