Bajo Green Forest Set - 5 Wooden Trees in Shades of Green

The Bajo Green Forest Set includes five solid wooden trees in different shapes and shades of green, ready for building forests, parks, gardens and all sorts of small-world landscapes. Each tree has its own shape and colour, from smaller rounded forms to tall woodland trees, giving children a simple collection of natural scenery to arrange and rearrange as part of their play.

Bajo designed the Forest Sets after noticing that toy worlds are often full of houses, vehicles and animals, but much less of the plants and greenery that surround them. These five trees give children an easy way to add the natural world to whatever they are creating, whether that is a woodland for animals, trees around a wooden house, a park in the middle of a block-built town or countryside running beside a road or railway.

They work particularly well for small-world and open-ended play because nothing dictates how or where they should be used. Children can move the trees around as their stories change, build landscapes around them, combine them with wooden animals and people or use them with blocks, vehicles and other loose parts. A little group can become a deep forest one day, a city park the next or five trees dotted around an imaginary farm.

There is plenty to explore with the trees themselves too. Children can compare their different heights, shapes and shades of green, sort and order them, line them up or arrange them into groups and patterns. Moving the individual trees around a play scene helps develop fine motor control and spatial awareness, while deciding where everything belongs encourages planning, problem solving and imaginative thinking.

The simple tree shapes also make them lovely wooden loose parts. Use them for seasonal displays, nature-inspired flat lays and imaginative scenes, add them to play silks and natural treasures or combine several sets to create a much larger woodland. Bajo makes the Forest Set in three different finishes, and the green 91000C set can also be mixed with the natural and striped versions for an even more varied forest.

Bajo describes the Forest Sets as both a backdrop for other toys and a way of bringing greater awareness of plants, trees and nature into children's play. Rather than being tied to a single activity, the five trees can keep finding their way into whatever children happen to be building or imagining.

The trees are made in Poland from carefully selected wood from certified local suppliers. Bajo sources its wood from companies following European environmental standards and also makes use of smaller pieces and wood left over by other industries wherever possible. The green finishes use certified non-toxic colours based on natural components, with Bajo using water-based paints and oils to colour and protect its wooden toys.
