The Bumbu Toys Wooden Lemon Puzzle & Stacking Toy is a handmade wooden fruit puzzle with seven pieces for fitting together, balancing, building, and pretend food play. Five yellow wedges nest inside a white inner layer and curved yellow rind to form a lemon slice, complete with painted seed details.

Serve the wedges on little plates, share them between dolls at a picnic, or set up a pretend lemonade stall. Children can take the lemon apart for play, then turn and match the pieces to work out how they fit together again. The separate shapes offer plenty of possibilities for open-ended play too. Try the rind as an arch, arrange the wedges into patterns, or combine them with wooden blocks for a balancing challenge. Add small world figures and see what the children decide to build around them.

Made by hand in Bumbu’s workshop in Bran, Romania, the lemon is crafted from maple wood and painted by hand. Traditional woodworking skills go into shaping the individual pieces, with careful fitting and painted details bringing the fruit to life. Each wedge is a small part of the puzzle, with plenty of work behind it.

About the wood

Each piece begins with a tree, and its grain, growth rings, knots, and darker markings can remain visible in the finished toy. These natural features, together with variations in colour and texture, give each piece its own character and a connection to the tree it came from. Natural wood markings are expected characteristics rather than faults. Every tree and every toy is unique, so your toy may look a little different from the photographs.
