The Bumbu Toys Wooden Lime Puzzle is a handmade wooden fruit puzzle with removable green segments that fit together inside a curved rind. Piece it together, experiment with balancing the shapes, or serve up lime wedges in the play kitchen. A lovely combination of puzzle play and pretend food, with pale green flesh, painted seed details, and a white inner layer.

Made by hand in Bumbu’s workshop in Bran, Romania, the lime is crafted from maple wood and painted by hand. Traditional woodworking skills go into shaping and fitting the pieces, with careful colour and detail making the fruit instantly recognisable.

Serve the lime wedges on little plates at a teddy bears’ picnic, share them between dolls, or set them out on the counter of a pretend café. The pieces can move from the puzzle to the play kitchen, then join the wooden blocks for building and balancing.

About the wood

Each piece begins with a tree, and its grain, growth rings, knots, and darker markings can remain visible in the finished toy. These natural features, together with variations in colour and texture, give each piece its own character and a connection to the tree it came from. Natural wood markings are expected characteristics rather than faults. Every tree and every toy is unique, so your toy may look a little different from the photographs.
