There’s a lot of work in these little pumpkins. Made in Bumbu’s workshop in Bran, Romania, each one is carved by hand from sustainably sourced wood, shaped, polished, and painted using non-toxic, water-based colours. We love the craftsmanship behind Bumbu’s toys here at Babipur, with traditional woodworking and painting skills going into the little pieces children will be loading onto their toy tractor.

Set up a pumpkin patch with a play cloth, arrange a farm shop, or choose which autumn squash to take home for tea. There are colours and shapes to compare, pumpkins to count, and plenty of stories to make up along the way.

We do love Halloween at Babipur, but the amount of throwaway plastic that comes with it can be a bit frightening! These are pumpkins we’d want to keep, bring out with the autumn decorations each year, and leave among the farm animals and play kitchen bits long after October.

Nestle them among leaves on a nature table, arrange them beside a celebration ring for Halloween and Calan Gaeaf, or pop them in a Halloween boo basket ready for play.

About the wood

Each piece begins with a tree, and its grain, growth rings, knots, and darker markings can remain visible in the finished toy. These natural features, together with variations in colour and texture, give each piece its own character and a connection to the tree it came from. Natural wood markings are expected characteristics rather than faults, so your toy may look a little different from the photographs.
