I'm Alex (@eco_friendly_twins over on Instagram) and Babipur have asked me to test out FixIts.
I’ve got lots of bits and pieces around the house that I would love to have a go at fixing with FixIts. I’m going to start with a couple of things; a broken suitcase zip, and a knife with a melted handle. The FixIts look amazingly simple to use so I’m excited to try them and see if I can fix these things!
How to use FixIts Sticks

The whole process of using FixIts was pretty fool proof and it was actually a lot simpler than I was expecting. You literally just melt the FixIt stick in some hot water, pinch off the amount of melted FixIts that you need, and then mould it around whatever needs fixing! It dries in just a couple of minutes, so the process is quick.
What to fix with FixIts

Fixing the broken zip on my suitcase was my easiest fix, and within just a couple of minutes I went from having no zip, to having a fully functional one. I had actually been debating replacing my suitcase as it was so hard zipping the case up, but thanks to FixIts, I don’t need to and years of life have been added to my case!
Smoothing out the melted parts of my knife handle was another really easy fix with a FixIts stick. I moulded a piece of FixIts around the handle of my knife and squashed it all into place. It started to harden before I was quite finished but thanks to Fixits being re-mouldable, I just carefully dipped the whole knife handle, complete with moulded FixIts, into some hot water for a minute, and then was able to finish the moulding process.
I will always keep some Fixits handy!
I love how quick and easy FixIts are to use, and there are so many things I have thrown away in the past that probably could have been fixed with a Fixit! I’m going to make sure I always have a pack in the kitchen drawer now, they are very nifty things to have on hand and I love that they can be re-melted and used time and time again!
