The Wobbel Original Beech Wood Balance Board with felt backing is a curved FSC beech wood board designed for children and adults to enjoy movement, balance, and open-ended play. The recycled felt base protects hard floors, reduces noise, and gives this Wobbel excellent durability for daily indoor use. Inspired by traditional Waldorf arch boards, the Wobbel Board encourages rocking, creativity, strength, and imaginative movement for every age.

What is a Wobbel Board?

A Wobbel Board is a high-strength wooden curve that invites natural movement and open-ended play. Children instinctively experiment with rocking, tipping, climbing, and balancing. This rhythmic motion supports core strength, balance, vestibular development, and body awareness. Beyond rocking, children use the Wobbel as a bridge, ramp, step, seat, tunnel, or part of their small-world play. It adapts to different stages and interests, offering endless possibilities for imaginative learning.

The recycled pressed felt backing is made mainly from recycled PET bottles. It is extremely durable, hard wearing, and easy to wipe clean. The felt protects hard floors from scratches, softens noise during rocking, and contains no wool or animal-derived fibres, making it suitable for vegan families. This version is ideal for homes with wooden, tiled, or laminate flooring and for more intensive daily use.

Materials and Construction

Each Wobbel Original is made from layers of European FSC certified beech wood pressed under high pressure to create its strong, iconic curve. The boards are made in Belgium and finished in the Netherlands using safe, durable materials. The felt backing is made from recycled PET, chosen for strength, longevity, and floor protection.

Age, Safety and Use

The Wobbel Original is suitable from 0+ months and for all ages above. For safe and confident play:

• Always supervise young children
• Allow only one child to rock at a time
• Keep fingers and toes away from the edges
• Use on a flat, even surface with 2m of clear space
• Bare feet or non-slip shoes recommended
• Avoid socks or smooth soles to prevent slipping

Designed for indoor use. It may be used outdoors occasionally, but this will increase wear on the felt and wood.
