Mamalila Softshell Green Babywearing Jacket Allrounder

I purchased this coat when my child was too big to carry on the front. I purchased for back baby wearing and wish I had purchased sooner.
It’s been great, waterproof and breathable.

I'm so pleased with my purchase and think I'll be using the jacket for a long time to come. I bought the size M and am currently using it with the bump insert at 35 weeks pregnant. I'd say the jacket comes up quite big possibly as it is quite loose on me at the moment. Though perfect for wearing a thick jumper under as it gets colder. The only downside is I think this colour will probably show up any stain or mark as it already has a couple of marks on it. Hopefully they come out in the wash!

A little updated review now I've used my mamalila coat for pregnancy and 4 months of babywearing.

It's incredibly easy to fit over a carrier, the babywearing panel zips in and has a little hood to keep baby dry in rain. Clever features like the little popper straps to stop the hood blowing down in the wind and the elastic pull cords to tighten the coat at the bottom and nape of babies neck keep you both cosy and dry. This coat is total game changer for pregnancy and babywearing. Getting out and about with a bit more confidence in any weather with a small baby is such a gift.

I can't wait to try back carrying with it once Cedric has a little more head control!

I just got this one this week, I've found the sizing quite generous, I'm between an 18/20 pre-pregnancy and currently carrying a huge bump and went for the XL (my measurements are between the XL and XXL on the size chart) obviously I haven't started using the babywearing panel yet (I'll add further review once baby is here) but the coat itself is so comfy, lightweight enough I don't feel bulked down but waterproof and snuggly soft inside plus a great hood that actually covers my head properly and keeps the rain off my face. The cuffs are stretchy so stop the wind blowing up the sleeves and the bottom has an adjustable cord so you can fit it to your preference. Overall a massive thumbs up from me - it's going to be invaluable once baby is here as we aren't bothering with a pram for this baby.

I am expecting my second baby in a couple of weeks. I carried my first baby from early days and still carry her now at 3 years old. Much prefer it to a pram because I walk in the countryside with the dog. My first was born in May and so weather was mild. Once I got to winter she was able to be wrapped up warm and I compromised fitting my other coats around her. However, this time with an October baby I wanted to be prepared for all the potentially cold, rainy and windy walks I will do with a newborn in a sling.
I found the Mamalila jackets and was given one for my birthday. I am so happy that I chose this jacket. The quality is comparable to the outdoor jackets that I own such as Arcteryx. Details like the soft elastication of the sleeve ends, fleece lined pockets and the clever cut to incorporate the various inserts make it feel very high end.
I have a comparatively small bump to others but the bump insert works well and has kept me warm on some autumn evening outdoor adventures when my usual coats wouldn’t have zipped up. I have also tried the rear insert with my three year old on my back and she fits!
I’m between a size 10 and 12 and 5’9” and I went with a medium after measuring myself on the chart. Plenty of room for a fleece underneath on future colder days but still has a flattering fit.
I would really recommend and so glad that I have this to go through the whole of my baby wearing journey this time!
