The Early Rider Belter Auto 16" bike takes the bestselling Belter 16 platform and adds automatic 2-speed gearing for smoother, easier riding. With a lower gear for easy starts and climbs, and a higher gear for cruising, children can ride further with less effort, without needing to use shifters, cables, or manual gears.

Designed for children aged around 4 to 6 years, with a 41 cm standover height, this lightweight aluminium kids’ bike is built for confident riding on tarmac, gravel, grass, dirt paths, and local adventures.

Geometry Built for Young Riders
The updated geometry is designed to help young riders feel safe, stable, and in control. Short chainstays make the bike easy to manoeuvre through tight spaces, while the relaxed head angle helps children stay steady over bumps and kerbs.

The handlebar position is high enough for comfort, but low enough to support efficient pedalling, which is especially useful when riding uphill or covering longer family routes.

Clean, Low-Maintenance Belt Drive
Instead of a traditional oily chain, the Belter Auto 16" uses Early Rider’s clean 8mm belt drivetrain. The carbon belt is rust-free, grease-free, easy to clean, and needs very little maintenance.

Paired with aluminium sprockets and the Sturmey Archer automatic hub, it gives young riders a smooth, quiet, and reliable ride that is ready whenever they are.

Tyres for Tarmac, Gravel, Grass, and Dirt
The 16" sealed bearing wheels are fitted with Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 2.0" tyres. These fast-rolling tyres give a smooth ride on tarmac while adding grip, cushioning, and stability on gravel, grass, dirt paths, and wet ground.

Their wider profile helps absorb bumps and gives children a more secure, comfortable feel when they venture off the path.

Child-Specific Controls
Every contact point on the Belter Auto 16" is designed for smaller riders. Reduced-diameter grips help little hands hold the bars securely, improving comfort, control, and confidence.

The Tektro V brakes use ultra-short-reach levers and light-pull actuation, making braking easier for smaller hands. Smooth, responsive braking helps children learn control from the start, while the all-aluminium lever construction adds durability if the bike is dropped.
