Children of the Forest by Elsa Beskow | Illustrated Children's Hardback Book

Step into a magical woodland home in this beloved children’s picture book by Elsa Beskow.

In Children of the Forest, tiny forest children live among the roots of an old pine tree, where every season brings new adventures. Through the year they play hide and seek with squirrels, gather berries and mushrooms, splash in woodland streams, and feed their animal friends when winter snow arrives. As the seasons change, the forest children discover the small wonders of nature all around them, until spring returns with a special surprise.

Elsa Beskow’s enchanting illustrations bring the forest world to life, filling each page with lively woodland scenes and charming details. Her nature filled artwork invites children to explore the plants, animals and seasonal changes that shape life in the forest.

First published over a century ago, Children of the Forest remains one of Elsa Beskow’s most loved classic children’s books. This beautiful hardback edition features hand designed endpapers, a luxurious cloth spine and premium paper that showcases Beskow’s timeless illustrations. A wonderful bedtime story and seasonal children’s fantasy book that encourages young readers to connect with nature and the rhythms of the year.

At Babipur we are proud to be a UK stockist of Elsa Beskow children’s books, along with Toverlux silhouettes featuring her illustrations. One Toverlux silhouette shows the toadstool children climbing a tree alongside friendly squirrels.
