The World of Elsa Beskow: A Vintage Colouring Book is a beautiful 80-page colouring book featuring 30 classic scenes, decorative patterns and quotations from Elsa Beskow’s much-loved picture books. Created for children and adults, it gives you the chance to add your own colour to Beskow’s flower folk, adventurous children, woodland characters and nostalgic Swedish landscapes.
The illustrations come from some of Elsa Beskow’s best-known stories, including Around the Year, Peter in Blueberry Land, Emily and Daisy, The Flowers’ Festival, Christopher’s Garden and Pelle’s New Suit. If you already know the books, there is something lovely about recognising familiar scenes and then spending much longer looking at all the little details as you colour them yourself.
Elsa Beskow was both the writer and illustrator of her stories, and that is such an important part of what makes her work feel so complete. Children, flowers, trees, seasons and imaginative little folk all belong to the same world. Her illustrations are full of botanical detail and decorative borders, often influenced by the Art Nouveau style of her time.
You can follow the colours of the original illustrations or make them completely your own. The mixture of detailed scenes, hand-designed patterns and quotations makes this much more than a standard children’s colouring book, and Floris Books has created it for a wonderfully broad age range, from children of around 6 right through to adults.
It would make a gorgeous gift for an Elsa Beskow collector, but it is also a lovely introduction for somebody discovering her work for the first time. About Elsa Beskow
Elsa Beskow (1874-1953) was a Swedish author and illustrator whose books have been loved for more than a century. She wrote and illustrated her own stories, creating distinctive worlds filled with curious children, magical folk, plants, animals and the changing seasons.
Her illustrations are known for their beautiful botanical detail, decorative borders and strong connection between childhood and the natural world. Around forty books were created during her lifetime, and many remain in print today.

Here at Babipur we aim to despatch your orders quickly using Royal Mail, Parcelforce, GLS and other couriers. We pack orders Monday to Saturday, if you need an express delivery option we recommend ordering before 1pm for next working day delivery. Tracking details will be sent to you by email or text.
Returns
If something isn't as expected, doesn't fit, or it's simply not right for you, just return it to us within 60 days of delivery for a no quibble refund. We do ask that items are returned in unused condition if you've simply changed your mind. If you have a faulty or damaged item please get in touch, return it to us for a refund or replacement and we'll cover the return costs.
