Thirty-six small wooden peaks in a flowing gradient of colour.

Grapat Mandala Peaks is a set of 36 cone-shaped wooden pieces, each measuring 22mm in height. Their softly pointed form creates beautiful vertical detail in mandala designs, and the colour palette moves gently from pastel pink through lilac tones to deep purple, inviting children to mix and then arrange them from lightest to darkest.

“Grapat” means “a handful” in Catalan, and that is exactly what these are: a handful of simple wooden treasures that spark explosive imagination.

These open-ended loose parts are designed to be sorted, counted, arranged and reimagined in endless ways. Younger children may use them in small world scenes as trees, mountains, or rooftops. Others may explore sequencing and colour grading, noticing the subtle shifts in tone as they build patterns by hand.

Combined with other Grapat mandala sets, the peaks add height and rhythm to circular arrangements. Mandala is the art of creating patterns around a central point, encouraging focus, symmetry and thoughtful placement. There is no correct design, only the process of building, adjusting and observing as the pattern develops.

Made in Grapat’s family workshop in the Pyrenean mountains of Catalunya, each piece is shaped from sustainably sourced wood from within the EU. They are coloured using water-based, non-toxic dyes and finished with wax or vegetable oils, allowing the natural grain to remain visible. Subtle variations in tone are part of their beauty.
