    Grimm's Colourful Bead Stair

Learn to count to ten and beyond with this set of ten strong cotton strings with 55 beads to thread onto on them: thread one bead onto one string, two beads onto the next, three beads onto the next and so on. This wooden bead toy is a great way for children to learn how to count and do simple sums as physically rolling the beads between a finger and thumb can really help with consolidating learning. The beads are a great size for children and this is a fantastic maths toy for both the classroom and learning at home.

Ethically made from sustainable maple and stained with non-toxic water based color in a rainbow of colours, this educational toy is bright and appealing to the senses. Children will love the warm, tactile beads and the wood grain shows through the colour stain.

Steiner educators will love this multi-purpose educational toy as it can be used for natural play in a myriad of ways - use the beads with a longer string to make a necklace; create patterns when doing threading games, learn to count and do simple sums, learn colours or use the beads as ingredients in a play kitchen. Combine with other maths and counting toys from Grimm's for further fun learning opportunities.

    Bead diameter: 2cm.

This set is suitable from 3 years+.

Sensory play: tripod grip, fine motor skills

Please note: due to distribution restrictions we cannot send Grimm's toys to addresses outside of the UK and Ireland.

Featuring toys to shake, build or pull along, Babi Pur’s range of Grimm’s toys has something for every child to fall in love with. The quality of these toys is superb and their appeal is timeless – we’re sure that they will be treasured not only by your children but by your grandchildren too.

Grimm’s educational wooden toys are made in Europe from alder, lime, beech and maple, all sourced from sustainably managed European forests. They are made in handpicked workshops across Europe and coated with natural colours and oils by the Grimm’s team in Germany. All of the paints and lacquer used to finish your lovingly made Grimm’s toy are harmless and enhance the natural beauty of the wood, allowing the grain to shine through.

Grimm’s Toys are inspired by the Waldorf Steiner education movement which advocates learning through thoughtful, creative play at an unhurried pace. Toys play an important part of the learning experience and Waldorf toys are made with natural materials, beautiful and simplistic – the lack of details allow children to fill in the blanks with their imaginations. They can be used in multiple ways in creative play scenarios, rather than being prescriptive. Waldorf-inspired toys are wonderfully tactile and call on children to play with them.

Brilliant maths manipulative

The usual excellent Grimm’s quality and beauty. Make sure you look at all the pictures so you know that this product essentially comes unassembled. I didn’t and it slightly threw me to start with. Once I’d referred back to the pictures on the Babipur website I was reassured and my five year old and I really enjoyed assembling it together and now enjoy using it as a maths aid. It’s been on my wishlist for years and so thrilled to now have it!

Great for developing early number skills

These lovely beads are a great way to support the early acquisition of number. Children can sort the beads into groups and thread them on to the string in groups from 1-10. The children are able to order the bead stairs or use them to complete simple arithmetic. The beads are beautifully tactile and the colours are lovely and bright as you’d expect from Grimm’s. The string needs to be cut once the beads are threaded on to the string in order to make the separate bead strings.

Perfect addition to the maths area

These are perfect for our Maths area at Nursery. The children love counting the beads and enjoy placing the bead strings in order from 1-10. We love them!
