The Sun Egg - Children's Book by Elsa Beskow

When an elf finds a mysterious orange egg nestled on the forest floor, she declares, "It's a sun egg!" When the sun egg is lost, she sets out to discover what it really is with the help of her friends, starting a wonderful adventure of discovery for the little elf.

A delightful story for young children about imagination and discovery, written by the world-renowned Swedish author and illustrator Elsa Beskow. The Sun Egg is a collectable picture book faithfully reproducing Elsa's classic illustrations. First printed in 1932, this new edition features a unique hand-crafted design, premium-quality paper, gold foil signature and a luxurious cloth spine.

    About the Author

Elsa Beskow is Sweden's best-loved children's book illustrator, transporting her young readers back to an idyllic rural Sweden at the turn of the 20th century. Swedish children have grown up with her magical stories for over 100 years, and these classics have been translated into many languages. Inspired by her life and surroundings, Elsa's illustrations feature characters modelled on her sons, and her wonderful drawings of plants and flowers inspired by her wild garden just outside of Stockholm. Combining fantasy and reality, Elsa's picture books capture the magic of childhood, with talking animals and elves intertwined with the natural world.
